Questions, answered
Is it really free, or is there a catch?
There is no monthly fee, no setup fee and no charge per staff member. We earn a maximum of €0.50 on each online booking, and by default that sits on top of what the customer pays at checkout rather than coming out of your takings. If you would rather absorb it yourself, that is a single setting.
Why can't I just sign up online?
Because booking software that is set up in a hurry tends to get abandoned in a hurry. We build every account with you — your services, staff, rotas, rooms and payment provider are configured and tested before you go live, by someone who has set up businesses like yours before. Get in touch and we will arrange a call.
I'm already using another booking system. How hard is it to move?
It costs you nothing and you do not do the work. We migrate your customers, upcoming bookings and history across ourselves, free of charge. Your existing appointments come with you, so nobody turns up to a booking that vanished in the switch.
Which payment providers can I use?
Stripe, Square, SumUp, PayPal or Elavon. You hold the merchant account and you keep whatever rate you have negotiated — we never take a percentage of your processing. If you find a better rate elsewhere later, you can switch provider without leaving us.
When and how do I pay the platform fee?
On Stripe it is split automatically at the moment of payment, so there is nothing to pay and no invoice. On Square, SumUp, PayPal and Elavon, which do not support splitting, we invoice on the 1st of each month for the previous month's bookings, itemised line by line so you can check every one against your own statement.
What is the AI receptionist?
An AI phone agent that answers calls around the clock, handles the questions customers actually ring about, takes bookings straight into your diary and sends payment links. It is trained on your own services and policies, and it is included at no extra cost.
Can you send reminders over WhatsApp?
Yes. Confirmations and reminders can go by WhatsApp as well as email and SMS, which cuts no-shows because people actually read them. Your team can also get a WhatsApp the moment a new booking comes in.
How does AppointMe handle data protection?
We are built to GDPR requirements with encryption in transit and at rest, EU data residency, audit logging and strict separation between businesses on the platform. Data export tools are available for any customer request you receive.
